Many families don’t know that we can now recycle plastic film in Leonia. To promote awareness and generate excitement about this new capability, the Green Team is sponsoring a Plastic Bag Challenge in the schools. Each school (ACS, LMS & LHS) will spend the month of May collecting as much plastic film as possible. The kids will weight it all and keep a tally of how much film each school has collected. The school with the most plastic film at the end of the month will win the challenge.
We will bring the collected materal collection location, where it will get delivered to Trex so it can be turned into new, recycled products. For every 500 pounds of plastic we collect in a 6-month period, Trex will donate a brand new park bench, to be installed in Leonia!
