Thanks to the efforts of the Green Team, the support of the Girl Scouts and the community, and a $10,000 grant from New Jersey Education Association’s Sustainable Jersey for Schools,  Leonia’s Anna C. Scott Elementary School stopped using Styrofoam cafeteria trays on Monday, October 2, 2017. The middle and high schools will switched to non-Styrofoam trays at the beginning 2018 school year. Styrofoam trays have been replaced with recyclable, compostable cardboard trays that will stay out of the school’s waste stream!
